Improve universal access to comprehensive quality education with a focus on gender equality for out-of-school students in Iraq.

The total beneficiaries for this project are 150,000 children, with a cost of USD 144,330,361, spanning over 3 years.

The project focuses on providing support to six governorates in Iraq (Baghdad, Erbil, Babil, Dhi Qar, Salahuddin and Ninewa), which host the largest number of children not enrolled in education. The project aims to bring about a change in the lives of 150,000 out-of-school children, including internally displaced and returning children. The project also addresses barriers to access to primary education in Iraq, such as limited access to education, poverty, poor quality of education and learning, poor school infrastructure, low community participation, parents' lack of awareness of the importance of education. The project aims to improve the school environment by providing school resources, training teachers, administrators and social groups. It also aims at introducing new approaches to awareness-raising campaigns and the protection of the right to education through the establishment of community forums, and emphasizing monitoring and evaluation, through the use and improvement of the government education management information system.
